Ian Jackson has been appointed as Club Manager at the acclaimed new Centurion Club near St Albans.
Jackson joins the exclusive new private members’ club less than two months after its official opening on July 1 and will renew a successful working relationship with Centurion Club Manager Director Scott Evans who he worked with as Operations Manager at both The London Golf Club and Bearwood Lakes Golf Club between 2002 and 2007.
His previous job before accepting the new post at the Centurion Club was as Manager/Secretary at Middlesbrough Golf Club in North Yorkshire.
Jackson has almost 30 years of experience working in the golf business and at the Centurion Club will have responsibility for looking after the day-to-day management of club affairs.
“We are delighted to announce that Ian has agreed to become Club Manager at the Centurion Club,” said Evans. “I have known him since the early 2000s and have no doubt he will do an excellent job managing the club and looking after our rapidly expanding membership.”
“I am very excited and honoured to have been invited by the owners to join the team as Club Manager here at the Centurion Club,” said Jackson. “I can honestly say I jumped at the chance when offered the job and will do everything I can to live up to the expectations, high standards and attention to detail required of me and the rest of the team at the Centurion Club.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity to become involved at such an early stage in the Club’s development,” he added. “It’s my job to ensure that all members and their guests enjoy everything about the Centurion Club experience and that’s what I plan to do.”
The Centurion Club is built on a picturesque parcel of land to the south west of the Roman city of St Albans, close to the M1 and M25 and just half an hour’s drive from the City of London. Its 7,200-yard course only opened for play on July 1 but has already been hailed as one of the finest new lay-outs in England.
