Innovators join forces

Two of the UK’s most innovative and fastest growing golf companies have joined forces to provide even greater added value to PGA members‘ coaching activities.
Explanar Golf Limited and Young Masters Golf are working together to expand the Explanar network throughout the UK, including promoting the Explanar system through a number of YMG’s 330-plus junior golf academies up and down the country.
Both companies are the brainchild of PGA members. Woburn head PGA professional Luther Blacklock developed the Explanar Golf Training System, while YMG was developed by PGA pros David Gosling, Nigel Blenkarne and Chris Smith. Both companies have made a significant impact on the UK golf scene and are currently being courted by overseas interests with a view to developing the products on a worldwide basis.
“YMG & Explanar is a great fit,” states Explanar Golf Ltd managing director, Tony Clark. “We both share the same innovative approach to coaching and we are determined to help the PGA pros offer the very best in training for their customers.
“The Explanar Golf Training System makes teaching and learning more enjoyable and ensures that PGA pros are at the forefront of teaching technology. We‘ve been talking with YMG for the best part of two years and it has become apparent that both companies share the same determination to help fellow PGA pros add the greatest value to their coaching and very importantly, achieve an attractive commercial return.”
YMG’s managing director David Gosling is equally enthusiastic about the new alliance. “Like YMG’s junior golf programme, Explanar adds real value to PGA qualified coaches, helping them to create better golfers more quickly,” he said.
“After two years of sharing information we felt the time was right for us to formalise our working relationship. And with the development of the Junior Explanar model also now well underway, the time is right for YMG and Explanar to work more closely together to pursue our common objectives.”
The Explanar Golf Training System works to help fast-track beginners, through feeling, to their most effective golf swing, whilst established players immediately gain a better understanding of their swing, ironing out ingrained faults almost instantly. The Explanar has already attracted the support of top US coach Butch Harmon and following the PGA Show in Orlando, orders have been received from golf schools across the US.
YMG meanwhile, is one of the UK’s fastest growing golf companies, having established a UK-wide network of over 330 YMG Junior Golf Academies in less than two years, offering its unique comprehensive structured golf training for children. The Explanar link will also be of great value to the many new women golfers who are already signing up for YMG’s new ‘Lady Master Golf Programme‘ (LMG), which is scheduled for launch in May.
