HONMA Europe has appointed Dean Cracknell, an accomplished marketer with more than 15 years of experience in the golf industry, as an Experiential Manager to help drive sales of its growing range of products across the United Kingdom.
Based in Hampshire, Dean will be working with existing retail partners and looking to set up new customers and club fitting events over a territory extending from Cornwall to Kent and from his home county up to the Midlands.
“This appointment demonstrates how we’re actively expanding the experiential side of our business in the UK & Ireland,” said Tony Scott, Head of Marketing for HONMA Europe. “Dean fits the role perfectly with his experience and knowledge of golf clubs and custom fitting at the highest level, as well as his sales and marketing expertise.”
Dean joins HONMA at a time when the brand is running a nationwide #DiscoverHonma promotion that offers those who take part in a fitting for HONMA clubs the chance to win the set they are fitted for or have the purchase refunded. The promotion, which runs until the end of November, is focused on the premium performance TR20 and TR21 players’ range and the game-improvement XP-1 family of clubs.
Dean, who spent more than a decade in various roles at Srixon from 2008 onwards, is excited by the potential of the HONMA brand and its increasingly popular clubs designed to cater for golfers of all abilities.
“Joining HONMA at this time is a great opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to getting out to retail partners to help drive their business forward in the months ahead,” said Dean. “As well as its super-premium clubs, HONMA now offers golfers mass-market options that really perform and I believe I can harness my experience to grow sales around these products,” he added.
Dean began his golf career as an Assistant Manager at American Golf in Camberley, Surrey, before spending three years with TaylorMade Adidas Golf as a Sports Marketing Executive from 2005. He became Product Marketing Manager for Srixon across Europe in 2008 and held the position for seven years, before briefly leaving the golf industry in 2015. He then returned to Srixon as Brand & Trade Marketing Manager for a further three years.
He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Golf Management from Guildford College.
