The Golf Foundation has thanked Foremost Golf for a charity donation of £12,000 that the buying group made at the GTEC06 golf trade exhibition and conference in Telford.
Foremost Golf selected the Golf Foundation as its preferred charity for the event and raised the money at a charity auction and dinner held during GTEC06, which was designed to meet the needs of all golf professionals (held 31st October to 3rd November).
Apart from the generous donation, the Golf Foundation was given a stand at the event by Foremost, and used the exhibition to promote its national initiatives which all support England Golf in the ‘Start’ initiative of the Whole Sport Plan. Tri-Golf, Golf Xtreme and the Junior Golf Passport were all on show.
Ryder Cup star David Howell, attending the exhibition, presented the £12,000 cheque on behalf of Foremost Golf, to Mike Round, chief executive of the Golf Foundation.
Mike Round said, “We cannot thank Foremost Golf enough for its tremendous support this year. Foremost professionals clearly really want to get behind grass roots golf development and long may this continue. It was also a nice moment to receive the cheque from David Howell, who has been a good friend and supporter to the Golf Foundation in recent years.”
