GTE LogoGlobal Turf Equipment (GTE) – the world’s largest independent seller and exporter of pre-owned golf course equipment – has appointed industry veteran Richard Bishop to its U.K. sales team.

Intimately familiar with the U.K. after nearly 30 years in senior sales positions with Ransomes, Bishop will be tasked primarily with developing the country’s municipal market. Bishop will represent GTE in East Anglia, strengthening the existing U.K. team of Mike Birdsall, Bob Bevan and Bob Buckingham.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard Bishop (‘Bish’),” says Buckingham, GTE’s Director of Operations for Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. “He has an extensive knowledge of the U.K. business landscape, is well known and highly respected in the industry, and will play a key role in helping GTE meet its ambitious growth targets in all market sectors.”

Global Turf has built an enviable reputation for the supply of all types of turf maintenance equipment and golf course utility vehicles. All products are refurbished and offered with a 90-day parts warranty.

Aerators, blowers and vacuums, fairway and greens mowers, top dressers, tractors, trap rakes, turf aerators, sprayers, utility vehicles, and verticutters are among the items available from leading brands like Toro, John Deere and Jacobsen.

The company has sold to more than 80 counties worldwide through a network of distributors and dealers. Sales for Europe, Africa and the Middle East are handled by the U.K. organization.

In 2013, GTE established an overseas partnership with the U.K.’s County Mowers as the first step in long-term plans to strengthen its European distribution network. A new facility in Denmark followed in 2014 as the next phase in GTE’s European expansion.

GTE’s 40,000 square-foot Florida headquarters stocks more than 750 pieces of equipment.
