Glendinning takes on new role in Canada

Marine Drive Golf Club in Vancouver in Canada has announced the appointment of talented golf club manager John Glendinning to the role of Chief Operating Officer. 

John brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Slaley Hall, Close House and most recently over the last eight years at The Wisley in the UK.

A spokesperson for the board of the club said: “With the club recently celebrating its 100th anniversary, this COO transition is an important time for Marine Drive Golf Club. With John’s experiences working at premium clubs in the UK, we are confident that he will bring all the necessary skills and insights needed to guide the club into our exciting future.  

Commenting on his new job, Glendinning said: “I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to become the next COO of Marine Drive Golf Club. I am very much looking forward to meeting all the members in the coming months and working alongside the incredible team to continue to deliver a great member experience.” 

Marine Drive Golf Club is a private members’ club that first opened in 1922 and boasts a 6,361-yard, 18-hole parkland layout that was designed by Irish golf course architect Arthur Macan. It has hosted the Canadian Men’s, Women’s, Senior Men’s and Junior Boys’ Championships, the World Amateur Championship and Ladies’ Commonwealth Trophy matches.
