Golf at Goodwood’s professional Steve Mitchell has now taken up a full time role at the West Sussex venue and brings a wealth of experience to his role both as an inspirational instructor and a successful tournament player.

Steve enjoyed an outstanding career in Southern regional professional events before deciding to pass on his knowledge of the game’s technique and strategy to golfers of all abilities including beginners as well as youngsters.

He explained: “I want the satisfaction of knowing that the information I am giving to anyone who comes to me to learn about the game will put them on the sure path to achieve their goals”.

To this end, Steve has already broadened the scope of Goodwood’s golfing clientele and masterminded corporate lessons for various business groups including Coutts Bank, Virgin Atlantic Gold Club members and HSBC.He has also embarked on a mission to spread the golfing gospel in local schools throughout Sussex as well as individual regional business groups to develop the game especially among juniors.

His enthusiasm for teaching even spread to the general staff of the iconic West Sussex venue near Chichester and he introduced the game to 30 individuals some of whom have subsequently joined the club on a special membership scheme.

His reputation as a motivational teacher also attracted 20 members of staff from the Rolls Royce Group who regularly attended weekly group lessons and he says: “Apart from individual pupils, I feel that collective lessons also play a crucial part in helping aspiring golf to progress.”

He adds:” I would like business groups in particular to experience at first hand what our Golf Academy delivers and that Golf At Goodwood offers a fun and relaxed atmosphere in which to learn and play golf.”
