Golf content creator Peter Finch has embarked on a charity bike ride across the UK with the aim of raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, while also shining a light on the vital cause of heart health awareness within the golf community.

A Fairway Down follows Finch as he plays the most northerly and southerly golf courses in the UK, covering a distance of 1,000 miles.

Finch started at Thurso Golf Club in Scotland on August 5 and will finish his journey 20 days later at Mullion Golf Club in Cornwall on August 24

During his journey, Finch will also play 10 different golf courses, with a combination of cycling and golf testing his physical and mental endurance, whilst experiencing the beauty of the United Kingdom along the route.

Finch has raised almost £50,000 so far for various charities in previous endeavours, and with A Fairway Down he hopes to add to that total significantly, while also educating followers on the important of making defibrillators accessible on golf courses.

Speaking about his latest charity adventure, Finch said: “It is the biggest challenge that I’ve ever taken on in my life; and I know there’ll be times where it will get very tough. However, I firmly believe that together everyone on this journey with me, both in person and at home, can help overcome every obstacle and make a significant impact in supporting this vital cause.

“The ultimate goal is to greatly reduce heart-related issues within the sport, making golf courses sager across the UK, and we hope that this challenge can raise valuable funds to make this a possibility.”

Hayley Gough, Regional Fundraising Manager at the British Heart Foundation, said: “It is fantastic to see Peter’s passion and determination in helping fund lifesaving research and we wish him all the best on his epic fundraising challenge.

“Without the dedication and commitment of fundraisers like Peter, the BHF wouldn’t be able to fund research into new cures and treatments that could transform the lives of the 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory conditions.”

On this journey, Finch is supported by WHOOP, the personal digital fitness and health coach which will track and present his statistics to examine how his body copes with the strain of this challenge.

He will document his journey across his various social media platforms and will regularly upload videos of the adventure to his YouTube channel, where subscribers can watch the trip unfold and monitor his progress.

In addition, Finch will be joined by many special guests along the way, from the realms of golf, cycling, and YouTube – all to help him in his adventure down the spine of Great Britain.
