Faldo and Foundation join forces

3.00am 28th August 2002 - People

Nick Faldo has announced that he will be broadening his involvement in junior golf through the Golf Foundation’s Tri-Golf initiative.

“It’s important that children are introduced to golf at an early age,” he said “and one of the best ways of doing this is through the schools. Tri-Golf is perfect for schools as it’s safe, easy to use, colourful and, most importantly, fun. Once children have experienced golf through Tri-Golf they’re more likely to want to continue in the sport.”

Golf Foundation chief executive, Mike Round applauded Nick’s attitude, “Nick is well-known for his commitment to junior golf and he understands that time and effort must be focussed at the grass roots level if the sport is to prosper. With the combined efforts of Nick Faldo, our greatest golfer, and the Golf Foundation, a charity dedicated to promoting golf to young people, there is no doubt that the biggest beneficiary will be junior golf.”
