Aldwickbury Park, one of ten UK BGL Golf venues, announces that Emma Clifford has been appointed new General Manager of the Harpenden-based leisure destination.

Emma joins Aldwickbury Park with a wealth of experience in the industry, including her previous role at West Essex Golf Club, where she was Secretary Manager for almost five years.

After turning professional in 1992, Emma spent nine years competing on the Ladies European Tour before going on to become a fully qualified PGA Professional in 2003.

During her tenure at West Essex, the club secured its GolfMark status and became a ‘Get Into Golf’ centre, with Emma’s efforts subsequently recognised when she was named the Golf Club Managers’ Association’s Manager of the Year for 2014.

Emma is now the third female General Manager of a BGL Golf venue, signalling the group’s continued commitment to providing equal opportunities for females within the golf industry.

“I’m excited about the challenge of this new role at Aldwickbury, and look forward to ensuring that we continue to raise the bar in terms of the quality and service we provide to both our members and visitors,” said Emma.

“From the minute I first arrived, I was very impressed with the facility. The recent investment has borne fruit, so it’s exciting to be representing one of the finest function facilities in the county,” she continued.

Nestled among picturesque parkland on the outskirts of Harpenden, Aldwickbury Park continues to pride itself on being regarded as one of the most welcoming clubs in Hertfordshire, boasting two courses and a thriving membership.
