IMG today announced that Englishman Eddie Pepperell has signed with the company for worldwide management and marketing representation.
The talented 23-year-old turned professional in 2011 after a glittering amateur career which included victories at the Portuguese Amateur Championship, the Welsh Men’s Amateur Strokeplay and the Berkshire Trophy. Pepperell was also a member of three victorious Jacques Léglise Trophy teams and England’s triumph in the 2010 European Team Championships whilst he represented his country at the prestigious Eisenhower Trophy.
Pepperell started his professional life on the Alps Tour, and quickly established himself as one of Europe’s brightest talents by winning the 2012 ALLIANZ Open Côtes d’Armor Bretagne on the Challenge Tour, having entered on a sponsor’s invite. He went on to claim his European Tour card by finishing 13th in the rankings and ended his rookie season 76th on the Race to Dubai, demonstrating his potential with a 6th place finish at the European Tour’s flagship event, The BMW PGA Championship.
In 2014, Pepperell continued his impressive progression by finishing 49th on the Race to Dubai, which included a run of four top-five finishes in five events, and is hoping to continue his climb up the rankings in 2015.
Pepperell commented, “I am really looking forward to joining IMG and being a part of their impressive stable of golfers. I am pleased with the results of my 2014 season but am always looking for ways to improve and I think IMG’s experience in the industry can help me achieve this and reach the next stage of my career.”
Guy Kinnings, Global Head of Golf, IMG, added, “Eddie is one of the brightest young English talents on the European Tour and has improved every year since turning professional in 2011. He has an appealing personality and a maturity beyond his years. We look forward to representing him as he continues to develop both on and off the course.”
Also signing up with IMG are Kiradech Aphibarnrat from Thailand and Renato Paratore from Italy. All three are teeing off this morning at the 2015 Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship. www.abudhabigolfchampionship.com
