Anna Darnell has been promoted to the position of general manager at The Grove in Hertfordshire.
The five-star venue’s former resort director will now be responsible for strategy, operations and revenue management across the 300-acre estate, overseeing areas ranging from front of house and security to housekeeping and golf.
A fully qualified PGA Professional, Darnell, 43, first joined the Grove in 2005 as corporate golf co-ordinator and over the years has held a number of key management roles, including director of golf and resort leisure director, where she managed spa, activities and leisure revenue.
Darnell will be supported by Human Resources director Danielle Michaels, financial controller Andy Watson, culinary director Maarten Geschwindt and marketing director Lucy Chase-Gardener. All five will report to Bernard Murphy, group managing director for Ralph Trustees.
The Grove features 214 guest rooms, the Sequoia spa, an 18-hole championship golf course, kitchen garden and several restaurants.
