Club Inc. (www.clubincorporated.com) were appointed by Wisley Club to undertake a worldwide search for the position of Director of Greenkeeping. John Lockyer has accepted the role, will become part of the Wisley Club team in mid-April. John was selected by the management executive committee at the Wisley Club, from a list of world-class candidates pre selected by Club Inc.

John Lockyer has over twenty-five years of international experience in turf care management and is currently the Course & Grounds Manager at Roehampton. Prior to this, he was the Senior Agronomist & Lead Consultant for the Sports Turf Research Institute, where he demonstrated extensive experience at golf clubs such as Valderrama and Woburn. John has an MSC in Sports Surface Agronomy, and quality experience from his time at BonitaBay and Jack Nicklaus’ impressive MuirfieldVillage in Ohio, where the attention to detail, and his knowledge and expertise of creeping bent grass greens, are world-renowned.
On his new position, John comments: “I’m delighted to have been offered the position of Director of Greenkeeping at the Wisley Club. They are already regarded as a top class facility. I would like to put on record the professionalism shown by Club Inc. in dealing with my appointment”.
At The Wisley Club, John will report directly to Chief Executive, Wayne Sheffield and will be responsible for the golf course conditioning and all aspects of green keeping team management.
