The renowned golf, event and travel business the Aspiration Group has appointed Silverstone’s former head of sales, Amanda Macchi, to the role of group sales and marketing director.
Macchi, had been with Silverstone Circuits for nearly two years, and brings with her considerable experience of the MICE sector. She was previously director of sales at De Vere Hotels and also director of sales and marketing at four-time Ryder Cup venue, The Belfry.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and of the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
The fluent French-speaker’s new role will see her reunited with her former Belfry colleague Aspiration Group CEO Simon Wordsworth, and she will take on responsibility for heading up the company’s sales and marketing activities.
She explained: “I thoroughly enjoyed my two years at Silverstone where I was privileged to work with some great people and to broaden my experience at another world-famous venue. But the chance to work with the team at The Aspiration Group – which has such an outstanding reputation and track record – was too good to refuse.
“I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running and will be keen to speak with existing customers and potential clients to see how we can help them, as we look to continue our impressive progress.”
During her time at Silverstone, Macchi significantly increased MICE sales year on year and won several six-figure M&E contracts against more-established venues. And it was this impressive track record which once again brought her to the attention of The Aspiration Group’s board.
Welcoming Macchi to the Leicestershire-based company, Wordsworth added: “We have known Amanda for some time and we have always been impressed with her professionalism and her dedication – and since I worked with her previously she has gained further experience which will be of huge benefit to both her and the Aspiration Group in her new role.”
