Bristol-based retail experts XPOS has launched a brand-new App for its customers.

A first of its kind in golf retail, the XPOS App, which goes live on March 1, replaces the original XAPP app developed by the company in 2016, which introduced use of a smartphone to complete stock takes in golf shops.

Until now, when the retailer received a delivery of stock items, they first had to be taken to the till to be scanned. Such is the busy life of the golf professional, that boxes were often left lying around the shop floor while the pro completed a multitude of other tasks. Without the need for a nearby till, the XPOS App delivers time-saving benefits, enabling the retailer to stock in anywhere, without needing to put products on the shelves. App users can even sell products online before they hit the shop floor.

XPOS Product Manager Henry King said: “The App was designed to take the hassle out of stocking in and stocktaking. App users will find it a far more convenient way to take deliveries. It speeds up the whole process, is simple to set-up and there are no limits to the number of staff that can use it.”

As well as the new stocking in area, the 2-in-1 App has revamped its stocktaking functionality too, making it faster and easier to start a stock take within the App itself.
The App is linked to the shop’s sales system, XPOS, which immediately updates new stock information during the process, ensuring accurate product details for better reporting.

March 1 sees the official launch of the App and the team at XPOS is delighted to be joining forces with Foremost Golf, hoping to reach as many members of the buying group as possible and encourage every retailer to benefit from the App’s features.

Ian Melham, Foremost’s business development manager, said: “Using technology like this to help our retailers run a more efficient business is crucial, and the XPOS App is going to make a big difference. I’m particularly hopeful that it will encourage more members to ensure their sales systems contain accurate product details. As well as seeing optimum benefits from the App, they’ll also enjoy better reporting and be able to make more accurate buying decisions. Our BDC team is very much looking forward to seeing the coverage of the app develop across the membership through the month of March and beyond.”

The XPOS App is available to download free  for XPOS V2 users via the App Store and Google Play Stores.
