Under Armour launches HOVR Drive 2

10.38am 25th March 2022 - New Products

Under Armour has unveiled the all-new UA HOVR Drive 2 shoe, which replaces the original UA HOVR Drive in the company’s footwear line up for 2022.

The Drive 2 features a number of new design elements compared to the previous model, with a new upper design that reduces the gap between foot and shoe to give the wearer a more locked-in fit, while a new 3D molded heel cup construction improves support, fit and articulation in this area and forms like a vacuum around the heel. The absence of an external heel counter, which features in many other golf shoes, also serves to reduce weight.

Walking comfort is enhanced with UA’s proprietary cushioning foam located in the midsole to support the biomechanics of the swing. A combination of softer cushioning in the heel and medial forefoot area, with firmer EVA along the sides, supports the natural motion of the foot during the swing. Testing has proved this design creates more torque and delivers more downward force into the swing.

Jake Haley, Under Armour’s senior product manager for golf footwear, said: “If you’re looking for the perfect combination of comfort and performance, the UA HOVR Drive 2 is your shoe. With a thicker, plush UA HOVR midsole for added comfort, this shoe has an amazing underfoot feel with phenomenal step-in comfort.

“A major update from the UA HOVR Drive 1 to the UA HOVR Drive 2 is the new fast and athletic upper silhouette. This upper gives a truly next to skin fit & feel, with a 3D molded heel that locks the foot in for ideal swing support yet provides ample foam and cushioning for a holistic comfort experience.”

Fully waterproof, and offered with a 1-year waterproof guarantee, the UA HOVR Drive 2 is available in a white/metallic silver colour option in sizes 7-12. It has has an RRP of £140/€160/$160 and is at retail now.
