SALI's zero-turn diesel mower

First-time IOG SALTEX exhibitor, SANLI UK Ltd, showed and demonstrated a number of important new additions to its outdoor power equipment and machinery line-up and visitors were amazed at the prices quoted, especially as distribution is through a conventional network of dealers.

SANLI UK Ltd, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fujian Sanli Engine Co. Ltd, a major designer and manufacturer of small engines, motorcycles and outdoor power equipment established in 1983 and based in Jinjiang City, Fujian Province, China.

Operating within a 300,000 sq m high-tech engineering and production facility, the parent company employs more than 1,000 staff engaged in the design, development, manufacture, marketing and support of SANLI products within China and a growing number of international markets.

Last year alone, SANLI shipped more than half a million mowers to distributors and stockists throughout Europe, Oceania, the USA and Canada.

Established in September 2009, SANLI UK is the third overseas operation set up specifically by the Chinese parent company, the other two being in Australia (est. 2005) and France (est. 2008).

Located in a modern office and warehouse facility near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, SANLI UK has concentrated over the past year on building sound foundations within the UK and Ireland for SANLI outdoor power equipment and garden machinery.

To do this, the company is continuing in the process of appointing a dealer network capable of supplying and supporting SANLI garden machines and equipment among end-users within the residential, semi-professional and commercial markets.

Those dealers who were appointed close to the beginning of the year have reported encouraging initial sales and positive feedback from first-time SANLI customers.

Recognised for delivering high performance and quality at a very keen price, the SANLI product range encompasses push and self-propelled rotary mowers, brushcutters, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, blower vacs, generators, garden tractors and rider mowers, including the company’s very first diesel ride-on zero-turn mower which was launched at SALTEX. Many more products are in the pipeline.

SANLI UK has been headed from day one by Mark Osborne who has 30 years’ sales and marketing experience within the UK and European outdoor power equipment industry. Mark is supported by a highly professional and talented sales and customer service team, together with a growing network of stocking dealers in the UK and Ireland capable of providing customers with a full range of services from demonstrations, sales and technical advice to comprehensive parts and service support.

Among the newcomers from SANLI were walk-behind and ride-on mowers, a garden tractor, a pair of hedge trimmers and a range of petrol and diesel engines suitable for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and as service replacement units.

Making its world debut at IOG SALTEX was  SANLI’s first-ever diesel-engined mower in the shape of the SL127AD zero-turn radius (ZTR) ride-on machine with a 48in (1.22m) combined side-discharge and mulching deck. Power to the wheels and cutter blades comes from a new twin-cylinder, water-cooled 18hp diesel engine, capable of meeting the demands of cost-conscious users with larger areas of grass to maintain.

Key features of the new mower include two lever independent zero-turn steering producing exceptional manoeuvrability from a machine offering superb operator visibility and surprisingly low purchase and running costs. Cutting height range is from 30mm – 90mm.
