A new mobile app that lets golf society organisers create events, invite players, run live digital scorecards and collect green fees securely all in one place, has been launched by RiddyGolf.
Replacing the tangle of group chats, bank transfers and manual spreadsheets that many societies still rely on, the RiddyGolf app launches at a moment when social golf is growing steadily across the UK. As participation shifts towards informal society days and flexible formats, the administrative burden on volunteer organisers has grown with it.
A survey of 71 golf society organisers conducted by RiddyGolf found that 41% identified collecting green fees as the most challenging part of running a society round, with many spending several hours before each event chasing payments.
Adam Huntly, co-founder of RiddyGolf, said: “Booking the tee time is usually the easy part. The real challenge is coordinating everyone and collecting green fees without spending hours sending reminders in WhatsApp groups.”
Key features
- Event management: Create and manage society events quickly, with invites sent directly through the app
- Integrated payments: Collect green fees securely via Stripe. No more chasing bank transfers
- Live scoring: Digital scorecards with real-time leaderboards visible to all players
- Automatic reminders: Push notifications keep players informed without the organiser lifting a finger
- Multiple formats: Supports Stableford, match play, medal, scramble and more

Society golf is a significant and growing revenue stream for UK golf clubs, as well as a social gateway to the game for many people. England Golf’s 2025–2030 strategy explicitly highlights the need to modernise how golfers interact with the sport, building a connected digital ecosystem that removes barriers to participation.
“Society organisers are the people who make a lot of grassroots golf happen,” added Huntly. “Our goal is to give them a tool that means they can spend less time chasing payments and more time enjoying the game.”
