PrideSports, the world’s leading producer of wooden golf tees and the number 1 Golf Tee on Tour has announced the launch of the new PTS Step Tee. These two-piece tees have been specially designed to promote a consistent tee height for golfers on the tee box by restricting insertion of the tee into the ground.

The PTS Step Tee joins the renowned PTS colour code system, making it easy to identify PrideSports’ three most popular tee sizes: Short®, a 2 1/8” tee that features a red locator bar, ProLength®, a 2 3/4” tee that features a yellow locator bar, and ProLength-PLUS®, a 3 ¼” tee that features a blue locator bar. The locator bar helps to identify how far to put the tee in the ground, thus increasing height consistency every time.

“As a complement to our longstanding wooden golf tee business, and the popular PTS line of tees, we have developed the PTS Step Tee, which offers performance features unlike any tee in golf today,” said Louise Roe, Business Unit Manager , PrideSports Europe. “The PTS Step Tee provides golfers with a consistent tee height, resulting in longer, straighter drives.”

The Professional Tee System™ (PTS) was created based on golfer demand, at both the professional and amateur levels, for a system to identify the golf tee lengths that worked best for today’s diverse oversize and hybrid golf club models.  As a result, PrideSports abandoned the decades-old style of identifying golf tee lengths by inches and created PTS, a proprietary system of colour-coded tees that allows for easy identification of length, and which matches the tee to a clubhead size.

The PTS Step Tee has a suggested retail price of between £1.09 and £5.99.
