ProQuip launches AW19 Apparel Collection

ProQuip has launched its most technologically advanced clothing collection ever for Autumn and Winter 2019.

Four decades ago, ProQuip’s founders were inspired by the way water ran off the feathers on a duck’s back. Today, they remain driven to replicate this natural waterproofness using the best scientific research and fabric technologies available to its designers.

The ProQuip AW19 collection is headlined by stormFORCE PX6 Pro, a rain suit manufactured using Japanese fabric exclusive to ProQuip globally and which carries a lifetime waterproof guarantee. It boasts the highest waterproofing and breathability specifications of any ProQuip suit – including those manufactured for 23 Ryder Cup teams (1983-2014) – and delivers a luxurious silk-like handle and feel.

The stormFORCE PX6 Pro jacket and trousers are best-in-class in ProQuip’s PX (performanceXtreme) Series of men’s rain suits and retail at RRP £325 with a lifetime waterproof guarantee.

Russell Brooks, managing director of ProQuip, said: “In stormFORCE PX6 Pro we’ve achieved the perfect balance of lightness, softness and quietness and delivered those comfort benefits alongside a jacket and trousers that provides protection against the worst weather. It’s high performance clothing that looks great, is enjoyable to wear and carries the ultimate assurance; a lifetime waterproof guarantee.”

Also in the waterproofs category, TourFlex-Lite is an ultra-packable rain jacket made from a dual-knit outer fabric with four-way stretch and a super-soft inner mesh liner. The lightest ProQuip waterproof, it features practical finishes including adjustor tabs and elasticated grip strip hem for the best possible fit. The jacket packs down smaller than a winter golf mitten and is crease resistant for smart appearance after storage.

Tempest is a new release for 2019 offering outstanding value for money (RRP £129 jacket and trousers) plus a three year waterproof guarantee. Two new colour stories have been introduced for the AW19 collection with Opal Blue/Pewter/Flame and Burgundy/Light Grey running through the waterproof and mid-layer categories.

ProQuip Therma Excel jacket

In the thermal mid-layer category, the updated Therma-Excel quilted jackets and gilets offer an on-trend outer shell with ultra-warm lining and power stretch panels and sleeves.

“As well as being the most technologically advanced collection in ProQuip history, the AW19 collection contains a nod to some of golf’s favourite winter clothing with traditional essentials enhanced by modern technical design,” added Brooks.

For traditionalists, ProQuip has updated its lambswool and merino knitwear collections – both treated with nano-technology for water repellency – with new colour stories and enhanced protection against light rain and showers. A classic long-sleeved polo has been reintroduced to the range in the base layer category alongside Sirocco, a compression heat top, and new thermal fleece snoods and bobble hats. A brushed cotton sleeveless slipover, Breeze, has been introduced for warmer Winter days as another option in ProQuip’s technical layering system.

Ladies Collection AW19

Therma-Tour Jacket

The 2019 Ladies AW Collection sees significant upgrades to the mid-layer category with the introduction of Millie, a super-soft brushed cotton zip-neck sweater and new colours available in Jenny, an athletic full-zip leisure jersey made with stretch fabric for a more athletic fit.

The Katrina TourFlex-Lite and Aquastorm Ebony rain suits continue in the range with both carrying a three-year waterproof guarantee.

ProQuip’s innovative water-repellent knitwear technology is available in a vee neck Merino sweater (Amy) and a full-zip Merino Cardigan (Chloe), offering solid protection against wind and rain for women who prefer not to wear waterproof jackets.

“One of ProQuip’s driving ambitions is to enable people to play more golf and overcome the challenges of bad weather. Looking at the rising prices of golf equipment, footwear and apparel, we feel passionately about providing high performance weatherwear at affordable prices,” added Brooks.
