SkyPro owners, get ready to hole more putts! SkyCaddie’s revolutionary practice device, launched to worldwide acclaim in 2013, just got even better.

Now, golfers who own SkyCaddie’s game-changing SkyPro swing analyser can groove their putting stroke too, with the announcement that SkyGolf®, maker of SkyCaddie® the most trusted1 Rangefinder in Golf, has launched a revised SkyPro® App for spring 2014, with a new Putting Analysis feature and redesigned user interface.

And for the first time iPad owners also get their own version of the SkyPro App, with a new iPad-native version now available to download for Apple’s world-beating tablet.

The new Putting Analysis feature on the SkyPro App is a free additional feature which enables golfers to perfect their putting stroke and lower their scores immediately by providing instant feedback about club face position, stroke length, tempo and much more.

Other new content on the SkyPro App includes expert video tips on each full swing checkpoint, from leading instructors including acclaimed teacher Hank Haney and 2012 Teacher of the Year Michael Breed. In addition, the new user interface is easier, faster and more intuitive than the original SkyPro App, enhancing the learning experience for golfers of all levels.

According to Haney, “SkyPro is revolutionising the way teachers help golfers to learn and improve. With the addition of the putting analysis feature, golfers can work on their entire game from tee to green, learning to build good habits during every practice session, not just when they’re working with their teacher. It’s such an effective teaching and practicing tool, that I believe every golfer should be using it if they are serious about improving their game”.

The SkyPro is about the size of a flash drive, and weighs less than 30g. It attaches easily to the shaft of any golf club just below the grip making it virtually undetectable. Thousands of critical data points about a golfer’s swing path, club head speed, swing plane, club face rotation, shaft angles and much more are instantly sent via Bluetooth to a FREE app on their smartphone to view their swing from address back to impact from any angle in true 3D high-definition.

The SkyPro feature which really makes it stand out is its unique Groove and Practice Sessions that provide instant feedback on successful swings, identify common faults immediately and offer fun challenge sessions to correct the flaws. Golfers can track their strengths and weaknesses through skills tests and evaluate those skill levels with verifiable milestones to start making more putts and hitting the ball longer, straighter and more consistently than ever before.

“More than 40% of all golf shots are putts, which is why it’s so critical for golfers to work on this part of the game if they want to improve their scores”, added Breed.  “SkyPro uses the latest technology to help golfers gain confidence in their putting by working on grooving a more consistent, solid stroke every time they practice rather than repeating their faults. This new confidence and skill will help golfers lower their scores and improve the overall enjoyment of the game”.

SkyPro’s powerful 3D inertial motion sensors capture up to 100,000 data points from address to impact during the swing or putting stroke automatically. Playbacks of captured swings / strokes are displayed in vivid high-definition on a golfer’s smartphone. SkyPro features an ultra-high-speed capture rate of up to 3,200 samples per second, providing much more accurate swing data than typical video cameras capturing at 24-60 frames per second. Without pushing buttons or forcing a change in your pre-shot routine, SkyPro captures automatically such information as: club head speed, swing path, club rotation, face angle, swing plane, shaft lean, tempo and much more.

In addition to swing playback in the traditional face-on, down-the-line and top views, the FREE smartphone app provides a wide range of intuitive ways to see, groove and improve a golfer’s swing and putting stroke to include:

SkyPro makes practice fun and rewarding by building a repeatable golf swing and putting stroke with tips and drills from top golf instructors. Based upon the swing a golfer prefers or the one their personal instructor recommends, SkyPro offers multiple swing and putting stroke checkpoints and uses built-in alerts to help identify common faults at each checkpoint for club rotation, shaft angle and swing plane. Challenging Groove Sessions help correct these faults by showing a golfer what he cannot see himself without his coach. Custom selectable goals and challenges measure progress making practice both fun and rewarding. Golfers can work on swing tempo, shaft lean and shaft angles at address and impact, backswing length, club head speed, swing path, face rotation and much more. Plus thousands of swings and putting strokes can be stored on a smartphone or in a cloud for more detailed analysis.

“One of the greatest advantages of SkyPro is that it’s easy to practice anywhere, anytime”, said Jacqui Surman, Vice President International Sales & Marketing, SkyGolf. “Golfers can use any club to groove their swing or putting stroke at home, on the range, or the practice green all year long, rain or shine. SkyPro is also interactive, allowing golfers to share instantly with their instructor or friends on Facebook and Twitter”.

SkyPro is set apart by its accurate and hassle-free golf technology. The key hardware, calibration and power management features include:

SkyPro has a suggested retail price of £169.95, and is compatible with Apple devices operating iOS6 or greater including all iPhones from iPhone 4 onwards, and the iPod Touch 5th Gen. There is also a native iPad version of the App.  A fully-charged SkyPro works for 8 hours of continuous golf swings – easily enough for even the most committed golfer.

The Putting Analysis feature does not require additional hardware. Visit the new SkyPro blog at www.golfskypro.com/blog for tips on how to set up and use the SkyPro. For more information, visit www.golfskypro.com
