The Jacobsen Eclipse 322 riding greens mower has been honoured in the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Industrial Design Excellence Awards announced recently.
The Eclipse 322 won a Finalist Award, in the Commercial and Industrial Products sector, which was a superb achievement and a special honour as only a very small percentage of the overall entries reach this level.
Commenting on the Eclipse, the judging panel said, “The Eclipse 322 is an environmentally friendly commercial mower that precision cuts and aerates the greens on golf courses. It is powered with an all-electric battery power system or a hybrid system with battery plus gas or diesel. Compared to existing greens mowers, the Eclipse 322 is simpler, faster and less expensive to operate and maintain. It also significantly reduces or eliminates emissions, both exhaust and noise.”
Warren Clark, Jacobsen’s Director of New Product Development said, “Although we didn’t win the top award, it was an outstanding achievement by our Product Manager Quinn Derby and his team to be recognized for the innovative design inherent in the Eclipse.
“As we approach the 500th delivery since the official launch back in January, it’s obvious that Superintendents across the globe truly appreciate the technological advances designed into the Eclipse 322.”
