With COVID-19 dominating the news headlines all throughout the world and with social distancing becoming the new norm, the people at Hole19 HQ have been thinking of what they can do to bring more fun into the game, while keeping players safe out there on the golf course.
For years now, golfers have been asking them to develop a live-scoring solution, which would enable golfers to compete with each other in real time via live leaderboards, when they’re out on the course with a larger group of friends.
There were some existing solutions that did a decent job, but golfers kept coming back saying they wanted to use Hole19 exclusively. So late last year, the team at Hole19 rolled up their sleeves and started building.
Head of Sales at Hole 19, Max Harvey, says: “Hole19 Live is something we had planned for later in the year, but given the current climate we brought development forward and have been able to release a BETA version. We have already been approached by a number of golf courses in different countries about utilising the feature. It works great for larger groups of golfers and also weekly roll ups/club competitions. The best part about it all, it’s FREE, all everyone needs to do is be registered with Hole19 and have the App downloaded on their smartphone.”
