Longball, the Canadian manufacturer of designer golf apparel, has appointed East Berks-based PGA Professional Guy Woodman as their man in the UK.
Guy will be promoting the Longball brand to fellow PGA Head Professionals throughout the UK, as he commented, “It’s now my job to achieve two major objectives: build the Longball brand’s profile and sales over here, and develop a good network of PGA Professionals who know how to retail golf clothing successfully.”
Woodman continued, “Longball’s carved a niche in the Canadian market as an exciting and stylish range of golf and leisure clothing designed for men and women that’s high end in terms of quality while being mid-range priced. Having seen next season’s designs, I’m very excited about the brand’s potential.”
Longball was created by three Canadians who were passionate about golf and the lifestyle that goes with it. They saw a strong need for a young, fun brand developed by players for players, one that could break the mould yet be an essential part of anyone’s lifestyle.
Launching in the UK, one of the first stockists is Clifford Gough, PGA Head Professional at one of the UK’s favourite nine hole courses, Reigate Heath GC in Surrey. Longball is running a fashion event at the club’s next Pro’s Day on September 5th, with some Men’s and Ladies’ members modelling Longball’s current and 2016 ranges.
Gough explained, “When it comes to golf and leisure clothing, Longball is refreshingly different in its promotional approach, preferring to use real people – i.e. members of its stockist golf clubs – to showcase the brand’s terrific designs to their fellow members, usually as part of a club’s major competition and/or social event. Their designs are really eye-catching, the quality’s high end but the prices aren’t, and that combination is proving very successful.”
An invitation to see the 2015 and 2016 Longball ranges
Woodman said, “I’m looking to build a strong network of PGA club professionals who will be keen to stock and support the Longball range, so if you’re a club professional and you’d like to see our 2015 and 2016 ranges, just give me a call and we’ll arrange for you to come along to the Pro’s Day at Reigate Heath GC, or to set up a date to meet at your own golf club.”
