Ten months after unveiling the GCHawk at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show, Foresight Sports has announced that its latest launch monitor is also capable of precisely measuring football performance, further expanding the company’s technology offering in the multi-sport entertainment market.
Harnessing the same object-sensing and image capturing technology found on the award-winning GCQuad, the ceiling-mounted GCHawk was designed from inception to be a gateway technology for multi-sport gaming that would go beyond the company’s expansive golf offering to also include football, baseball, volleyball, hockey, and other sports.
According to Foresight Sports Europe’s Sales Manager Steve Dacre, the timing for the GCHawk’s multi-sport upgrades couldn’t be better. “The demand for multi-sport entertainment is growing exponentially across every market. Our commercial clients want to offer a bigger variety of true-to-life virtual game options for their customers, and our consumer clients want more gaming options for themselves and their families. With the GCHawk now offering football, the world’s most accurate and reliable launch monitor is now also the most versatile.”
With its sleek, ergonomic form factor elevated above the player, the GCHawk not only provides unprecedented in-game freedom to golfers of both right and left-handedness, its huge sensor range also makes it ideal for precisely capturing the launch and spin characteristics of practically any type of sports ball or object.
“We’re extremely excited to add in-depth football tracking to our capabilities,” says Foresight Sports Europe Director Edward Doling. “But this is only the beginning. You can expect more sports tracking abilities, more performance and gaming options, and ultimately more entertainment experiences from us in the very near future.”
The GCHawk’s new football feature is immediately available for purchase by both new customers and existing owners in the form of a firmware upgrade, as well as Foresight Sports’ debut gaming experience for football, Skill Drill. The company’s family-focused Fairgrounds series of games are also compatible with the new football capabilities, with more titles coming soon.
