Marbas, the Italian golf brand renowned for its fine, high quality shirts and knitwear, has launched its Spring-Summer 2011 Collection for the UK & Ireland, which will be showcased at The Golf Show 2010 in Harrogate on stand C26. The new collection combines traditional Italian style with state-of-the-art manufacturing and the finest natural fibres to create high-quality shirts and luxurious knitwear.

The collection comprises Marbas’ high-end Green Label (for men) and Red Label (for women), as well as its newly launched Blue Label, featuring an extensive and versatile range of 27 different styles and spring colour palettes, offering outstanding value for money.

David Kinsey of The Kinsey Partnership, Marbas’ exclusive agent for the UK, Ireland and Middle East, said: “Marbas’ Spring-Summer 2011 collection offers the best of sophistication, quality and craftsmanship in modern golf apparel. While the Green and Red Labels for men and women will be at the heart of the new Collection, featuring luxury shirts and knitwear, we are also very excited about the introduction of the Blue Label, which offers all the quality you would expect from Marbas, with exceptional value for both retailers and consumers.”

The new Blue Label range comprises shirts (from £35) manufactured from soft (60/2 ply) mercerised Egyptian cotton, a fraction thicker than the super-light (80/2 ply) yarns Marbas uses for its premium labels. The naturally elasticised shoulder seams of the garments further enhance the quality and performance of each shirt, allowing for greater comfort and playability.

The Blue Label collection also includes fine Baruffa wool-mix knitwear (from £44) offering superior comfort, style and warmth, which looks as good off the course as it does on it. Combining modern technology and first-class craftsmanship, all Marbas’ sweaters benefit from a beautiful drape retaining their shape and resistance to pilling for optimal wear.

Marbas’ signature Green Label will once again include the brand’s distinguished ‘double-mercerised’ Egyptian Makò cotton shirts (from £49.99), which have been designed to complement its luxury Baruffa Wool knitwear (from £75).

The ladies’ Red Label Spring-Summer 2011 garments build on Marbas’ 30 years of sartorial experience and tradition, offering the perfect synthesis of femininity, sophistication and quality for the most discerning female golfer. The collection comprises elegant golf shirts and jumpers in an array of colour sand fabrics, while epitomising the importance of fit and comfort.

My wife and I attended The (British) Open last year at the Old Course. While there, she purchased a beautiful purple Marbas sweater withe “150 Years” logo on the front. Alas, in a moment of blondness, she washed it. It obviously shrunk to a non-unable size. I would love to buy a replacement for her. Do you have any of The Open stock left that I could find a small, ladies sweater in? Again, this one is purple but I don’t know that color so much as size (small) and the logo matter. Help!!

    Sincerely,

    Stephen Prince
