Callaway Golf has announced an important game-changing technology with the launch of Speed Regime Golf Balls, a family of Tour-level products engineered to golfers’ individual swing speeds to maximise distance and spin.
Available in three models – SR1, SR2 and SR3 – Speed Regime Golf Balls deliver Tour standard aerodynamics and performance across all three products regardless of swing speed, creating optimum spin separation for longer drives without compromising on feel around the greens.
To maximise the benefit of Speed Regime technology, Callaway’s R&D team have developed the golf balls to match three common swing speed categories; 90mph and below (SR1), 90-105mph (SR2) and 105mph and above (SR3), allowing golfers to ‘custom fit’ an exact Speed Regime Golf Ball to deliver total performance.
The Speed Regime family also features a new, proprietary, soft cover, delivering tour-level control for the short game, plus Callaway’s trademark HEX pattern, which optimises aerodynamics by covering a greater surface area resulting in longer, more stable and penetrative ball flights.
Dave Bartels, Senior Director of Golf Ball Research & Development for Callaway, said: “If you’re not playing a Tour ball that’s been engineered and fitted to your swing speed, you are giving up significant performance. By individualising the performance of golf balls, meeting the specific requirements of different types of golfer, Speed Regime offers total performance to help lower scores.”
Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, added: “Whilst the Speed Regime concept seems simplistic in nature, our R&D team have worked tirelessly to produce a range of golf balls that will truly benefit all amateur and professional golfers. Callaway has been built on the premise of creating products that enhance the enjoyment of golfers game and the SR golf balls will do exactly that.”
A soft inner core reduces driver spin across the Speed Regime line for extra-long distance, while a firmer outer core helps generate increased spin from short irons and wedges, for aggressive stopping power on the green.
Speed Regime 1 is a four-piece ball, while Speed Regime 2 and 3 are five-piece balls featuring a thin outer mantle, which also helps reduce spin off the driver even further to achieve explosive distance.
Callaway’s new Speed Regime Golf Balls are available from retailers across Europe from 31st January with an RRP of (per dozen):
GBP 39.99; EUR IRE 49.99; EUR 55; CHF 72; SEK 499; DKK 449; NOK 475; EUR FINLAND 55
