Ben Hogan launches GS53 Max driver

8.38am 23rd October 2020 - New Products

Ben Hogan Golf‘s new GS53 MAX Driver features a lightweight carbon composite crown designed to maximize distance and forgiveness.

The GS53 MAX offers a 22% larger and 11% taller face than Ben Hogan’s 445cc GS53 Driver, which remains in the range. The four-piece head design utilizes multiple materials including forged titanium and dense tungsten, which is complemented by a carbon composite crown. This combination of materials allowed engineers to precisely position weight inside the clubhead to create a low and back centre of gravity for higher initial launch. Weight has been positioned to the edge of the head to increase stability and keep the clubhead square at impact.

The GS53 MAX – which is offered in 9 and 10.5-degree lofts – features an adjustable hosel which enables users to alter the loft by +/- 1 degree. The lie and face angle can also be changed from square to open or closer in order to tune the desired shot shape. The eight adjustment settings are easily identifiable and do not require re-orientation of the shaft graphics or grip position. This allows golfers to keep the shaft and grip aligned to their personal preference no matter which setting is selected.

The GS53 MAX driver is initially available in a right-hand only and is offered with a choice of three premium aftermarket shafts – Project X’s HZRDUS Smoke Black, Tensei’s CK Blue and UST’s Mamiya Helium.

“This is a special driver that is born off Ben Hogan’s principles of club design,” said Scott White, CEO of Ben Hogan Golf. “Our R&D mission for the GS53 MAX was to keep the centre of gravity as low and as far back in the head as possible, which is very different when compared to the original GS53 driver, which is much higher and more forward.  This provides a higher ball flight for players who don’t have Tour-caliber clubhead speeds for increased carry and roll.”

Ben Hogan offers a risk-free demo programme, as well as a Trade-UP offer where golfers can offset the cost of their purchase by selling used equipment back to company.
