Atom Bunker Edger in action

The Atom Bunker Edger, which was shown at IOG SALTEX on the DJ Turfcare stand, is unique in the golf industry and trims bunkers up to eight times faster than any other edging device.

With a 17-inch (436mm) hardened spring steel blade and a powerful two-stroke Komatsu Zenoah engine, the Atom Bunker Edger safely cuts through sand and soil to sever grass runners underground.

Light and manoeuvrable, it leaves a sharp clean finish with none of the backache associated with a normally arduous chore on the golf course.

Comfortable bio-rubber handle grips on tubular anti-vibration handles with a fingertip six-position height adjuster make the Atom Bunker Edger a delight to use for the hard-pressed golf greenkeeper.

Very tough and durable with a reinforced super-strength polyamid casing, the bunker edger has dual six-inch (152mm) rubber-tyred sealed ball bearing wheels and a disk for gripping on slopes.

The fully-enclosed solid steel precision-ground transmission shaft adds to the strength and power of the Atom Bunker Edger, which has spiral bevel 3.5:1 reduction gears for high torque to drive the long blade. Ball bearings are used throughout.

Stewart McMillan, Course Manager of Mill Ride Golf Club, Berkshire, said: “The Atom Bunker Edger has transformed a time-consuming chore by reducing at least three days work to less than one.”

The Atom Bunker Edger is economical in use and has proved itself to hundreds of greenkeepers in the UK.
