abacus Solheim Cup outfitsAbacus Sportswear, Official Clothing Supplier to The 2013 European Solheim Cup Team, has revealed the outfits players will be wearing during the biennial match at Colorado Golf Club, Parker, USA, August 13-18, 2013.

The match wardrobe focuses on performance and comfort for the challenging climate the ladies will encounter in Colorado during the month of August – typically humid, with warm, sunny mornings, and thunderstorms and rain showers in the afternoon.

When asked how important it is to be stylish and fashionable when the eyes of the world will be fixed on every movement her 12 players will be making, European Team Captain, Liselotte Neumann, said: “It is always important to look good because it makes you feel good. On a day where you have to perform your best, you need to be feeling your best.

“If you go back and look at the outfits Abacus Sportswear designed for the matches in Chicago and in Ireland, they were smart and stylish while maintaining the important technical aspects within the fabrics. That’s exactly what we need. There’s nothing better than leaving your hotel room feeling good – it makes you feel stronger and like I said, it gives you confidence.”

Chris Mattsson, Abacus Sportswear’s Head Designer, is confident that the exclusively crafted garments will measure up to the players’ expectations, in both functionality and design.

All products from the abacus® Spring/Summer 2013 collection, including rain suits, windwear and UV protective garments, are currently available to purchase with The Solheim Cup crest at www.solheimcupeurope.com/shop and will be on sale at the Merchandise Shop, Colorado Golf Club, between August 14-18, 2013.

The players’ Sunday outfits will not be revealed until the final day of the tournament on August 18, 2013.
