Cobra unveils new King Tec Hybrid

2.45pm 18th June 2021 - New Products

Cobra Golf says that its new King Tec Hybrid is designed for ‘better players seeking reliable carry distance and enhanced forgiveness off the tee and on longer approach shots into par fives’.

The only hybrid in Cobra’s current line-up to feature a PWRSHELL face, the innovative design utilizes a thin, forged 455 stainless steel L-cup insert that is hyper flexible to promote faster ball speed and higher launch across the face.  In addition, the King Tec hybrid features a carbon fibre crown that saves 10g that are repositioned low and back within the clubhead to lower CG.

Both technologies combine to offer high launch, reduced spin, longer carry distance, and softer landing into greens. A slightly oversized profile aids in forgiveness, while a squarer leading edge gives players confidence to execute precise and controlled ball flights.

The sole features three adjustable weights (2 x 12g and 1 x 2g) that can be positioned in the toe for a fade-biased ball flight, or the heel for a draw-bias, or a front setting for a neutral and lower launching flight. Additional 14g and 10g weights are also available through custom orders. An adjustable MYFLY hosel features eight settings which can be adjusted up to + or -1.5 degrees (including three draw settings), allowing players to further dial in their preferred launch and spin performance.

“We’re excited to bring MYFLY technology and adjustability to our hybrids,” said Jose Miraflor, Cobra’s Vice President of Marketing & Product Architecture. “The ability to fine-tune your trajectory, while gaining more distance, is what better players look to achieve.”

The club boasts a Cobra Connect grip powered by Arccos Caddie which enables users to track their shot data through the downloadable the Arccos Caddie app on a smart device.

It is available in right and left hand (LH custom only) in four lofts – 17° 2H (adjustable from 15.5° to 18.5°), a 19° 3H (17.5°–20.5°), a 21° 4H (19.5°–22.5°) and a 24° 5H (22.5°–25.5°). It is offered with a Mitsubishi Chemical MMT 80 graphite hybrid shaft in extra-stiff & stiff flex or an MMT 70 shaft in regular flex. Priced at £239/€279, it is available at retail from July 1.
