Leaderboard Golf, owner and operator of five of the south of England’s finest golfing venues, has launched a brand new website serving the UK and international golfing community at www.leaderboardgolf.co.uk

The new Leaderboard website not only provides up-to-date information on the venues within the Leaderboard Group (Chart Hills in Kent, Dale Hill in East Sussex, The Oxfordshire near Thame, Sandford Springs in Hampshire and The Leaderboard Golf Centre at Reading), but combines state-of-the-art social media and interactive functionality, making www.leaderboardgolf.co.uk the first port of call for golf lovers online.

Key site features for consumers include:

Golf News
  • All of the latest golf news from around the world and close to home, via the news pages and the integrated Twitter widget
  • Product reviews and Top Ten lists, covering everything from golf balls to putters
  • Direct links to retailers around the globe selling most of the golfing merchandise featured on the site
  • Interviews with golf bloggers and other people of interest to the golfing world, and biographies of all the top players
  • Leaderboard TV – featuring video tutorials, tips,
    Golf lessons

tours around the five Leaderboard Golf venues, product reviews and much more

  • Guides and lessons on a wide range of topics – from how to improve one’s swing to selecting the best golf grip

This stunning website is the brain-child of Leaderboard Golf Chairman Paul Gibbons, who came to realise that the expertise and knowledge of his Leaderboard Golf team was only being accessed by members at Leaderboard’s own golfing venues.

Paul felt strongly that this valuable know-how ought to be made available to the wider golfing community and decided that the best way to extend their reach was through a new website.

The site has been designed with the express intention of targeting a broad spectrum of golfers beyond the limited geographical reach of Leaderboard’s existing physical centres in England, and contains everything the modern fan could ever want from a website dedicated to the game of golf.

Serving the golfing community in UK and beyond

Not only has www.leaderboardgolf.co.uk been designed to be a valuable information and education resource, it also aims to foster a real community spirit among its users and contributors. Golfers from around the world are encouraged to comment on the features, news and reviews on the site, interacting with both the Leaderboard Golf editorial staff and golf pros, as well as with other www.leaderboardgolf.co.uk users.

Of the finished website, Paul Gibbons comments, “I am delighted to be launching this excellent new website serving the golfing community in the UK and beyond. I have always felt strongly that the golf world needed a central online hub allowing professionals working in the industry to share their knowledge and insight with amateur golfers while encouraging social interaction between golfers of all levels globally. I could not be happier that Leaderboard has been the company to make this dream a reality.”

Jon Buchan, Director of Render Positive, the firm tasked with bringing Paul’s vision to life, comments: “The new Leaderboard site is unique in the way that it facilitates interaction between the Leaderboard team and the website’s users. For example, it allows golfing fans to request particular tutorials for areas of their own game that need improving and the Leaderboard team will create video tutorials based specifically on users’ needs. This wouldn’t have been possible without the huge dedication from the entire Leaderboard team.”

Paul Gibbons – Business Revolutionary

Prior to creating Leaderboard Golf in the late 1990s, Paul Gibbons was known for revolutionising a very different sector – that of the used car sales market. It was while working at The Reading Evening Post in the seventies that Paul Gibbons met John Madejski and the pair founded Hurst Publishing.

They created the Thames Valley Trader in 1977 and within five years the publication went national, Hurst Publishing partnered with Guardian Media Group and the Thames Valley Trader became Auto Trader – the UK’s first dedicated classified car sales title.
