Clock Tower Press, LLC, a new publishing company, has acquired the publishing rights to the Sleeping Bear Press inventory of golf, sports and regional books. Established by the former Sleeping Bear Press shareholders, Clock Tower Press will retain approximately 100 published titles. There are also 75 new titles in development.

Clock Tower Press publisher Robert (Skip) DeWall, Jr., former executive editor at Sleeping Bear Press, projects Clock Tower Press first year sales at $2 million.

John Wiley & Sons has purchased SBP’s ‘Ann Arbor Press’ imprint, including all titles in turfgrass management. The Gale Group (Thomson Learning) has purchased Sleeping Bear Press and its children’s book division. The details of these sales were not disclosed.

The first Clock Tower Press book launch is “Mr. Ryder’s Trophy” by Shirley Dusinberre Durham. Celebrating golf’s upcoming Ryder Cup, the new book inventively explores the long forgotten original purpose of the matches.

Clock Tower Press offers distribution through all normal book channels. It also sells directly to individuals, and will soon launch http://www.clocktowerpress.com
