Leadingcourses.com, Europe’s foremost online golf review and booking platform, has unveiled plans to expand and diversify its service after a successful fundraising campaign during 2020.

Under a new-look management team led by Dutch entrepreneur Ruben Meiland, the website is relaunching in the coming months with a new brand, design and booking system.

As part of the relaunch, Leadingcourses.com will keep course reviews as a central part of its product, while the new investment secured will enable the platform to focus more on tee bookings and will give users access to a number of additional golf benefits and services.

Meiland, 42, has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the world of technology and is a former co-founder of Ticketscript and ex-vice president at Eventbrite. He will be joined on the Leadingcourses.com management team by chief finance officer Reinout Dijkstra, chief commercial officer Jeroen Korving and business director Cyriel Van Bree.

He said: “We were delighted to complete a successful fundraising campaign, despite the difficulties posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a very exciting time for Leadingcourses.com and we’re looking forward to rolling out a number of new services over the coming months.

“There are lots of opportunities to further support the golf industry with a strong product focus, digital innovations and the use of data. The platform is already very impressive and we believe the new elements that we’re introducing will take it to the next level.”

With 400,000-plus monthly visitors, who are inspired by more than 385,000 reviews of golf courses worldwide in nine different languages, Leadingcourses.com is Europe’s largest community platform, made for and by golfers. Featuring 20,000 courses in 153 countries, the site currently receives up to 1,200 new course reviews per week, while tee-time bookings are already available on more than 500 courses on the continent.
