IPC appoints new editor for “Golf Monthly”

4.47pm 13th April 2000 - Media

Jane Carter has been appointed as the new editor of “Golf Monthly” with immediate effect. She will retain her role as editor of “Women & Golf” the title she herself launched in 1991 and sold to IPC at the end of 1997. “I am tremendously pleased to have been appointed to edit the number one golf title in Europe,” said Jane, a 12 handicap golfer. “My aim is keep the magazine as the leading publication and to continue to develop the brand at a time when the whole business of the golf media is changing so quickly.” Jane Carter has been working in golf for several years. She was appointed Press Officer to The Professional Golfers’ Association in 1985 and was retained as media consultant by the PGA until 1997. She also edited the Association’s in-house magazine “PGA Profile”. “Women & Golf” was Jane’s creation and it was her success in that new venture which first brought her to the attention of IPC. When the publishing giant took over the magazine, Jane was asked to remain with the publication and now, two years later, has been appointed Editor of both IPC golf titles.
