‘Golf News‘ celebrates digital success

The market-leading free monthly golf newspaper is celebrating the 50,000th reader of the digital versions of its publications.‘

Golf News, the UK market-leading free monthly golf newspaper, is celebrating the 50,000th reader of the digital versions of its two publications, Golf News South and Golf News Midlands & North, which went online just six months ago.

Golf News, which was first established in 1994 and is published by Blue Green Media, is the only consumer golf title in the UK to make its entire editorial and advertising content available online and it is proving a popular way for golfers to catch up with all the latest news, reviews and interviews.

“The printed editions of Golf News are distributed to over 900 golf clubs in the UK, but the digital version allows us to reach an unlimited number of golfers who, for whatever reason, are unable to get hold of a hard copy of the newspaper,” said Golf News publisher Matt Nicholson. “A high percentage of our readership has access to high speed internet connections, and the traffic to our website has increased dramatically since we launched it in March.”

The digital version is driven by PageSuite, the industry-leading technology that lets users read the magazine as it appears in print, turning the pages and allowing readers to focus in closely on individual stories. A keyword search facility also allows users to find stories that relate to specific people, products or places.
