GOLF Advisor – the leading online destination for the traveling golfer – has resulted in a number of milestones for the website across all key user metrics, including record months in both May and June.

On the heels of a record-breaking May – when for the first time monthly unique visitors to GOLF Advisor surpassed 1 million (1.2 million) – June traffic totalled 1.3 million unique visitors, up six percent over May and 46 percent year over year. Page views reached 2.4 million and visits finished at 1.6 million, which represented year-over-year increases of 42 percent and 45 percent, respectively.

Despite golf’s lockdown of more than two months in select markets due to COVID-19, the 23,260 golf course reviews garnered by GOLF Advisor in June surpassed the previous monthly record achieved in July 2014 (19,865) by 17 percent. GOLF Advisor now features more than 1 million golf course reviews written by nearly 500,000 unique golfers.

“What we’ve seen from our audience this spring and into early summer is that interest in playing golf during the COVID-19 pandemic is sky high,” said GOLF Advisor Senior Managing Editor Brandon Tucker. “Golf course operators and technology providers have positioned the sport well to be among the healthiest ways to recreate. Topical articles have resonated with our readers, as have the tens of thousands of reviews from our community so far in 2020, which detail the most up-to-date spotlight on how facilities near them have adapted.”

All key metrics through June 30, 2020, increased year over year, including uniques (+46 percent), page views (42 percent), visits (45 percent) and reviews (57 percent). Referrals through the GOLF Advisor website also helped generate more than 4,000 rounds of golf through GOLFNOW.
