As in previous seasons, Full Swing 3 features extensive behind-the-scenes coverage of the PGA TOUR season, with some of the main storylines from 2024 covered in the seven-part series including world no.1 Scottie Scheffler’s continuing dominance – as well as his bizarre arrest head of the first round of the PGA Championship; Ludvig Aberg’s impressive major debut at the Masters, and Rory McIlroy’s near-miss at the US Open, where he lost out to LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau. DeChambeau refused to take part in the series.
Other players to get screen time include college golfer Neal Shipley, the Ohio State player who finished as the low amateur in last year’s Masters, while Gary Woodland’s road back to health following brain surgery also features in later episodes, which have a running time of between 40-50 minutes.
Keegan Bradley, who was controversially left out of the 2023 US Ryder Cup team, enjoys a moment of retribution when he is invited to captain the team for the 2026 matches in New York – all of which is captured by Netflix cameras, while Sahith Theegala, who called a penalty on himself at the TOUR Championship, features in episode 4, with the infringement – that nobody else spotted – costing him a share of second place and $2.5m in prize money.
The docuseries, which made such a huge impression on its debut in 2023, saw a sharp decline in viewership for its sequel during the first part of 2024. Season 1 of Full Swing attracted 4.8 million views and 28.5 million hours watched from January to June, down from 53.1 million hours watched across the same six-month period for the first series.
