Spanish golf resort La Cala has appointed Front 9 Group as its new communications agency.

Following a competitive pitch process, the agency will commence work highlighting La Cala’s position as Europe’s leading Spanish golf & lifestyle resort.

Located just 30 minutes from Malaga airport and the popular destinations of Malaga and Marbella, La Cala Resort is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and the resort remains committed to providing an exceptional golf & lifestyle experience on the Costa del Sol. The resort, owned by FBD Hotels & Resorts, continues to invest in world-class facilities and this was recognised recently when they were crowned Spain’s ‘Golf Resort of the Year’ 2024 at the IAGTO awards.

The resort offers guests a unique lifestyle experience with a diverse range of facilities, including a luxurious spa, locally inspired restaurants & bars, which includes the recently revamped La Bodega and three championship golf courses.

La Cala Resort’s diverse leisure offering includes racquet sports, with padel, tennis and squash plus a golf academy with unmatched views across the Mediterranean, a fitness studio, gym and FIFA standard football pitch.

La Cala Resort continues to expand with leading UK property developer Taylor Wimpey investing over €120 million into the resort over a 10-year period to build more than 1,000 new homes. The most recent development, Solana Village, will add 197 new homes once finished.

As part of La Cala Resort’s commitment to sustainability, all of the apartments at Solana Village will utilise the latest environmentally friendly engineering and design practices. Aside from the partnership with Taylor Wimpey, La Cala also offers plots for sale, allowing homeowners to design their own villa whilst still obtaining all of the resort’s benefits.

La Cala Resort has put an emphasis on sustainability for the last 35 years, with sustainable practices at the heart of everything the resort does. With the support of its owners and continued investment, La Cala Resort was awarded GEO certification in recognition of their environmental and social responsibility.

La Cala offers 45 holes of championship golf

“We’re hugely excited by this opportunity,’’ commented Andrew Boxer, Managing Director at Front 9. ‘’As an award-winning destination, La Cala Resort offers a fantastic range of leisure opportunities and amenities that are up there with the very best in Europe.”

“The three world-class golf courses, comprehensive off-course offering, exceptional accommodation and its idyllic location between the mountains and the sea make this a really exciting partnership for us and we are committed to ensuring La Cala Resort continues to receive the recognition it deserves.”

Focus through 2024 will revolve around the 35-year anniversary of La Cala Resort and the continued investments in sustainable golf and the exceptional experiences available throughout the resort.

Sean Corte-Real, La Cala’s General Manager, added: “Front 9 possess the industry contacts and expertise necessary to position La Cala Resort where we believe it belongs; at the very pinnacle of travel resorts.’’

‘’We have worked tirelessly to improve all areas of the resort and provide our guests with a perfect venue to spend their leisure time. Our community is growing and with the continuous investment from our owners, we remain dedicated to raising the quality of our offering. By working closely with Front 9, we will enhance our marketing output to ensure La Cala Resort is the first choice for discerning travellers from around the world.”
