Promote People helps clubs tackle recruitment crisis

1.52am 2nd November 2022 - Management Topics

Promote People is continuing to help solve the recruitment crisis at golf clubs by placing over 40 employees in new golf industry roles in just the last five months.

A subsidiary of The Promote Enterprise Group, which also includes Promote Golf, the golf consultancy and marketing agency, their success has seen them recruit in all departments within a golf club – from golf operations directors through to accountants and greenkeepers.

One club to have benefitted from Promote People’s services is Windlesham Golf Club in Surrey. Jack Bamford, the club’s General Manager, commented: “Promote helped us recruit our Management Accountant, Rhys Benneyworth, and Chris Hall, our new Front of House Supervisor

Using Promote we quickly received strong candidates to consider. Their advice and insight of the industry was very helpful and their support throughout the process was invaluable. And the assistance doesn’t stop after the appointment, which is crucial in a challenging market.”

Other roles to have been successfully filled include: a Marketing Executive position at BGL Group’s Head Office; Golf Operations Manager at Harewood Downs Golf Club; Food & Beverage Manager at Effingham Golf Club; Clubhouse Manager at Romsey Golf Club; Head Golf Professional at Orbis Golf Academies; Head Chef at Stanton on the Wolds Golf Club; and Bar Supervisor at North Hants Golf Club.

Richard Pilbury, co-founder of Promote People, is proud of the achievement and optimistic for the future of recruitment within the industry. He said: “The challenging market conditions for recruitment is really focusing the attention of golf clubs on remuneration packages, the perks and benefits to working at their club, and increasingly the work-life balance of their staff. This can only be a good thing for the industry going forward.”

In addition to fixed-price job advertising services, Promote People is also being engaged in more traditional recruitment, searching for the best talent to take on general manager roles within the industry.
