The UK golf industry is to start benefiting from a new staff recruitment initiative offering low cost fixed-price job advertising packages. Promote People, a new company founded by Promote Golf, are seeking to support golf clubs in the current challenging employment environment.
With three initial packages available, the company will market job vacancies using the leading job websites, including Indeed, Reed, Monster and TotalJobs, plus key additional digital exposure. The golf recruitment experts will also write and create all advertising content for the role and screen candidates
The Promote People Team are ex-Golf Club operators and know how important staff retention is, so all newly recruited employees will have access to a wide range of induction and golf industry education through Promote Golf’s catalogue of eLearning courses.
Even the recruiting member of staff can benefit from their 60 minute “Recruitment & Selection” online course prior to interviewing candidates.
It’s a service that’s being presented by Promote People’s founders, and well-respected and golf knowledgeable figures within the golf industry, David Reeves and Matthew Orwin. Talking of the initiative, David Reeves comments:
“In the highly competitive jobs market, we believe sourcing the right candidates is becoming an activity more closely related to marketing. Employers must target the profile of individual they want to recruit and use pro-active advertising principles to attract them. It’s not a lot different from membership or green fee recruitment, which is something we’ve been working on with golf clubs for many years through Promote Golf.”
It is a timely service that seeks to take the pressure off Golf Club Managers in finding ideal candidates for their club’s vacant positions. It is, however, not the only benefit bestowed by the initiative. David continues:
Exactly the same as membership recruitment, it’s cheaper to retain a member of staff than it is to recruit a new one. As such, we’re opening Promote Golf’s catalogue of eLearning courses to new employees too. Those first 6 to 12 months of employment are so important for retention and our educational offering will help ensure the new starters feels valued and can see a pathway to achieving their ambitions.”
David and Matthew, through Promote Golf, have conducted several recruitment exercises recently, most notably with the successful Government’s Kickstart Scheme. They also managed the recruitment process for GolfPlex, the new golf-themed family entertainment venue in Bracknell, that saw over 200 candidates apply in the space of two weeks.
