Pin Vision targets slow play with new app feature

New 'Pace of Play' functionality gives golfers live course updates while helping clubs manage flow and improve the on-course experience

Pin Vision, the leading GPS app that provides golfers with precise distances to the flag, has launched a new ‘Pace of Play’ feature designed to help golfers move more efficiently around the course, while giving clubs greater visibility and communication tools to manage busy tee sheets.

Rolling out across partner venues within the Pin Vision app, the new functionality provides real-time pace of play status, direct communication between golfers and club staff, and live course condition updates – all aimed at improving the on-course experience for players and operators alike.

The feature builds on Pin Vision’s growing ecosystem of tools for both players and clubs and addresses one of golf’s most persistent frustrations: slow play.

Golfers can view live course status updates, receive direct notifications from staff, and contact the clubhouse or marshal instantly if assistance is required.

For clubs, the feature provides improved operational oversight, enabling managers to identify bottlenecks, communicate with groups on the course, and maintain a steady flow of play, particularly during peak periods and competitions.

Luigi Goria, co-founder and COO of Pin Vision, said: “Pace of play is one of the biggest challenges facing golf clubs today. With this new feature, we’re giving both golfers and managers the tools they need to keep the course moving smoothly.

“Our goal has always been to enhance the playing experience through accurate information and smart communication. By introducing real-time pace monitoring and direct messaging, we’re helping golfers spend more time playing and less time waiting which benefits everyone.”

The pace of play feature is available at Pin Vision partner venues, and also includes integration with IOTee’s golf cart technology to view live cart locations directly within the Pin Vision app alongside the new pace of play functionality, giving operators a clearer picture of activity across the course in real time.

John Summerville-Hendrie, general manager at Knole Park Golf Club, said: “Pin Vision has given us the ability to better monitor our pace of play and improve our on-course service to members and guests alike.”

Dragos Tataru, golf manager at Villa Carolina Golf & Resort, said: “As a manager, having instant communication with players on the course has made my job so much easier. It helps us react quickly to delays and keep the day running smoothly. I’d highly recommend it for any club looking to improve pace of play.”

The launch follows a period of rapid growth for Pin Vision, which continues to develop new functionality aimed at improving both the golfer experience and course management. From precise pin-position GPS distances to interactive course discovery and operational tools for staff, the Italian-founded app is positioning itself as an increasingly comprehensive digital solution for modern golf clubs.

As adoption increases, Pin Vision expects the pace of play feature to become a key part of how clubs manage busy tee sheets, and how golfers enjoy a more seamless round.
