OnGolf, the industry’s first cloud-based decision platform for improving golf course maintenance and management, has engaged Signature Group to assist with business development and strategic advisement for the revolutionary product.

OnGolf, introduced last February at the Golf Industry Show in San Antonio, provides a new golf course operating solution which leads to cost-saving measures for superintendents. In less than eight months, OnGolf has identified more than $700,000 in cost savings for its customers.

“OnGolf is the ideal fit for the golf industry today for multiple reasons,” said Walt Norley, the Founder and CEO of OnGolf. “We provide the ability to simply manage all course operations from one place for the first time. Also, at a time when a premium is placed on water conversation in our entire society, OnGolf allows for a greater focus on water management for golf courses. The technological aspects are also attractive to a superintendent base that is becoming even more reliant on pertinent data that is presented in a user-friendly manner to efficiently manage their entire business.

“We look forward to using Signature Group’s expertise and knowledge within the golf industry to introduce OnGolf and further enhance the ability to manage and improve golf courses across the board.”

OnGolf was founded on the principle of “more with less” and data-system integration by Norley, with significant input from long-time industry friends Matt Shaffer, Director of Grounds at Merion Golf Club, and Shawn Emerson, the Director of Grounds for Desert Mountain Golf Club who is the Chairman of OnGolf’s Advisory Board.

The Core technology was developed by Fresno, California-based OnFarm which has impacted the agricultural industry with more than 1,000 growers on 1.5 million acres since 2012. Previously, Norley was founder of the industry’s first wireless soil sensing system, UgMO Technologies, which led to his continued interest in providing technological solutions which help superintendents succeed in the highly competitive golf course management industry.

“We have been aware of Walt Norley for some time since he has been such an impactful innovator in providing golf course management solutions over the past decade,” said Bruce Lucker, the Managing Partner of Signature Group. “The growth of OnGolf and its umbrella approach to providing data in a digestible form that superintendents relish in their day-to-day operations provide an all-encompassing solution for the first time. This solution couldn’t come at a better time and we are confident OnGolf will resonate with the marketplace.”
