The Greenkeepers Training Committee (GTC) in association with the Virtual College is pleased to offer the first in what is hoped is a series of on-line learning programmes.

David Golding, the GTC’s Education Director, explains, “The GTC is looking to promote best practice through modern technology and we hope individuals and greenkeeping students and turf staff at our Approved Centres enjoy the new Maintain the Health of Sports Turf on-line learning option.

David added, the GTC has developed learning materials which both individuals and GTC Approved Centres can access through hard copy and CD format and clearly to make these available on-line is the way forward as they can be accessed world-wide.

“Geographical restrictions are removed and learners can access their training at a pace, place and time to suit them. E-learning continues to prove an alternative and increasingly popular route to traditional face-to-face delivery” explains Lesley Ord, Operations Director of Virtual College. “We are very pleased to be working with David and the team at GTC on this exciting new project.”

All the training materials can be accessed through the GTC’s website www.the-gtc.co.uk or for further information call 01347 838640
