Ian Howieson an Advanced Fellow of the PGA and one of the first 10 PGA Qualified Director of Golf in Europe who launched Golf Management Group in the South of England in 2010 has launched GMG / Scotland this year.

Having relocated to Pitlochry 3 years ago Howieson felt with the introduction of GMG Contracts Manager and the success of GMG in the rest of the UK the time was right to introduce GMG to Scotland.

To date he has recruited 58 Golf Clubs including Royal Dornoch GC in the Highlands to Powfoot GC in the Borders. Royal Troon GC on the West Coast and Kingsbarns in the East. 50 Golf Clubs was his target this year growing to 100 within 2 years.

All the Clubs have installed Contracts Manager the online portal which enables Secretary / Managers or Committees to manage their Service Contracts more efficiently saving them time as well as making cost savings for their Clubs. New Secretary / Managers welcome it to get on top of the business quickly and existing Secretary / Managers see it as the future with most saying that eventually every Golf Club will have Contracts Manager installed.

With the list of GMG / Suppliers growing, Howieson says there has never been a better time for Golf Clubs never to over run on Service Contracts and to get the best support from GMG to do price comparisons through the strength of the Buying Group. With Golf Clubs in Scotland already making savings in Utilities, Washrooms, Waste Management, Telecoms, Food and Beverage and various other areas of a Golf Clubs expenditure GMG / Scotland’s momentum is growing fast.
