Golf clubs across the UK have started to recruit new employees using the ‘Engage’ service offered by Promote People, a new sister company to Promote Golf. The service offers fixed-price recruitment advertising for all positions within a golf club – from Head Chef to Greenkeepers, helping to ease the recruitment crisis being felt across the sector.
In addition, new staff have access to Promote Golf’s wide range of industry-specific eLearning courses, a feature of the service strategically designed to increase retention of those valuable new starters.
Clubs that have already benefitted from the service in May include Mill Ride Golf Club in Ascot, Hever Castle Golf Club in Kent, Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club in Shropshire and Stanton Golf Club in Nottingham.
Jon Wittenberg, General Manager at Hever Castle Golf Club, has been particularly impressed following the appointment of several Clubhouse Staff for his club last month. “Using Promote People has made this one of the smoothest recruiting services I have ever used. Richard also kept in touch to see progression of the candidates and it was refreshing as a Manager to have this extra liaison working with you.”
Tom Pain, General Manager at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, “We used the Engage package to look for a new Retail Pro Shop Assistant and Head Chef. We were delighted with the quality of CVs from Promote People and recruited both individuals within weeks. Tim and Phil are great additions to our team, and we would definitely use the service again.”
Paul Keeling, General Manager at Stanton Golf Club, said of the service, “We used the Promote fixed fee recruitment service for a position in our Food and Beverage Department. Within a few days we received high quality CVs that were applicable to the role and recruited shortly afterwards. The service worked very well for our requirements.”
Speaking of the early success, David Reeves, Director of Promote People and Founder of Promote Golf, says: “Since our launch last month, the level of interest has been incredible. That’s certainly reflective of the current jobs market, but also the innovative service we’ve created. At a time when finding good staff is costly and difficult, the focus needs to be on effective recruitment advertising. Many of the online job boards can be effective, but like anything, they need to be used correctly – and there is a level of knowledge, skill and a lot of time needed to achieve this.”
