Golf Management Group, the company dedicated to reducing UK golf clubs operating costs, has just past a significant landmark with over 200 Golf Clubs now part of this ever increasing purchasing alliance.
Since launching nationally this summer, the group has doubled the number of golf clubs that are members with clubs from the Highlands of Scotland to the South Coast of England now enjoying the benefits and savings.
The reason for such accelerated growth is probably best summed up by a South Region based secretary, commenting: “We already have a large expenditure and excellent prices in place due to our own extensive negotiations. However we were blown away with the savings our club has made by being part of the GMG collective spend”
GMG are making it easier for golf clubs across the Country to sign-up having appointed a team of Regional managers who have been appointed across the UK to sit down face to face with golf club Secretaries/Managers and explain more about the benefits the group can offer. What’s more, the group are also holding an inaugural roadshow at Haydock Park Race Course on Wednesday 21 September for clubs to interact with suppliers and learn more about the group and get a real insight into what the group is all about.
Even the once most sceptical of clubs have been pleasantly surprised by the savings GMG’s suppliers have made them. From Open Championship venues to the smallest nine-hole municipal courses, GMG is quite literally revolutionising the way golf clubs operate and saving them thousands of pounds in the process.
The idea is simple, yet effective. By creating an Alliance between hundreds of golf clubs and suppliers, individual clubs can now take advantage of discounts and savings normally reserved for the multi-national organisations or hotel chains. GMG do not dictate where golf clubs buy from nor do they get involved in the payment process between club and supplier. Golf clubs therefore keep their independence.
Clubs are charged a nominal yearly subscription fee of just £149 per annum and are provided with digital manual of GMG approved suppliers with savings and preferential terms in over 30 categories, from a simple scorecard to the latest in Machinery technology.
By being part of the Golf Management Group’s collective £60 million budget spend it stands to reason that any club will benefit due to the economies of scale.
