Promote Golf have launched their Kickstart Online Course Prospectus for new golf club staff being employed under the Government scheme.
Introduced to the golf industry in January, the Kickstart scheme is a Government initiative to offer 6-month work placements to adults aged 16 to 24 years of age. Employers receive full funding for the positions including salary for up to 25 hours per week, employers NI and pension contributions. In addition, employees will get access to Promote Golf’s new prospectus of online courses.
The prospectus gives the new employees access to a range of training, from Foundation Courses, Job Specific Courses and Optional Courses. In total each Kickstart employee will be able to access over £1000 training, which is in addition to the salary grant that the Golf Club will benefit from.
Here is a small selection of the courses available, including:
- A guide to working in Golf
- Golf Club Manual Handling
- Customer Service In Golf
- Membership Promotion
- GDPR In Golf & Cyber Security
- Working Behind A Bar
- Course Environment & Climate
Kickstart funding is still available for golf clubs looking to recruit 6-month positions from greenkeepers through to bar/kitchen staff – however clubs need to act fast to secure new staff for the summer & autumn. Visit www.promotegolf.co.uk/kickstart to learn more.
As well as being available to Kickstart staff, these new Module courses are live on the Promote Golf website and accepting enrolments from individuals interested in learning more about greenkeeping and course maintenance.
