National Golf Month banner P4 NGM 14Foremost is part of a growing group of governing bodies and other interested parties who see National Golf Month as an ideal vehicle to attract new players and to entice lapsed golfers back into the game.

Participating Foremost professionals will provide new and lapsed players with a free half hour lesson as part of the National Golf Month activities while the group’s members with digital communications will also be encouraging their local club members to bring along a friend for a free shared lesson.

The latter Introduce a Friend Free Lesson Promotion is designed to increase the likelihood of a new or lapsed golfer staying in the game.

The Introduce a Friend offer will be backed by extensive digital and in-store promotion and each new or lapsed player will be offered a subsequent 6 for 5 promotion to encourage them to take a further series of lessons.

“It has been well documented that participation has been falling and it is incumbent on all of us within the industry to try to rectify that situation.

“We see National Golf Month as an ideal vehicle to attract new players and to entice a large number of lapsed golfers back into the game. It is good for golf at both a local and national level and represents an ideal opportunity for Foremost members to reach out to a whole new customer base but ultimately to grow the game locally as well as nationally.”

Project Director of National Golf Month, Doug Poole, said: “It’s a great boost for National Golf Month to have the support of Foremost Golf. Their unmatched number of member professionals and the resulting geographical spread allows us to offer all those participating the opportunity for some first class instruction.”

The National Golf Month promotion was instigated by the British Golf Industry Association (BGIA) and is supported by Foremost, England Golf, the Scottish Golf Union, the United Kingdom Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA), the Organisation of Golf Range Operators and other interested parties.

Bauer Media is NGM’s official media partner and will be publicising the promotion across a wide range of its titles with a reach of over 23 million potential consumers.

A list of Foremost professionals participating in the NGM activities can be found by logging on to www.foremostgolf.com and clicking onto the website’s Store Locator area.
