The Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) will stage a series of four Turfgrass Management Education Seminars and Expositions in the second half of the year.
Following back-to-back events in the Philippines and Vietnam in early September, a further two gatherings will be held in China in November.
“We are pleased that the AGIF will be collaborating with the respective local golf associations to bring about these events for the benefit of the Asian golf industry,” said Richard Walne, Chairman of the AGIF’s Education Committee and Toro’s Managing Director, Australia & Asia Pacific.
The series will tee-off on September 5-6 at Manila’s Orchard Golf & Country Club, a former venue for the Johnnie Walker Classic and consistently rated as one of the finest golfing establishments in the Philippines. From there, it’s on to the acclaimed Greg Norman-designed Danang Golf Club on September 9-10.
Dates and venues for the two China legs will be announced shortly.
In addition to showcasing their products, attendees at the Turfgrass Management Education Seminars and Expositions will be able to listen to presentations from high-profile speakers, provided by the Golf Course Superintendents’ Association of America (GCSAA).

In March, the AGIF, in partnership with the Thailand Golf Association and the Thai Golf Course Superintendents’ Association, staged a successful Turfgrass Management Exposition at Laem Chabang Country Club in Pattaya.
Featuring an array of equipment as well as product demonstrations and education, the event, which was supported by The R&A, attracted a record turnout of almost 280 speakers and delegates.

“That so many superintendents from around Asia attended these sessions to learn about practical ways to accomplish these objectives is extremely positive for the industry.
